Basic Vegan Chocolate Cupcake Recipe
(Makes 12 Cupcakes)

Recipe: adapted from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World

1 cup of unsweetened soy milk
1 tsp of apple cider vinegar
3/4 cup of castor sugar
1/3 cup of canola oil
1 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 tsp of baking soda
1/2 tsp of baking powder
1/4 tsp of salt

Special equipment: muffin tin & cupcake paper cases

Method:

1. Pre-heat the oven to 350F.
2. Line a muffin tin with paper or foil cupcake cases.
3. In a metal bowl, whisk together the soy milk and vinegar. Set aside for about 5 minutes and allow mixture to curdle. Add the sugar, oil and vanilla extract and whisk until foamy - about 2 minutes.
4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
5. Add in two batches to wet ingredients and beat until no large lumps remain. Tiny lumps are ok.
6. Pour into cupcake cakes, filling them up about 3/4 of the way. Bake for 15-18 minutes. Use a toothpick to test their readiness by inserting it into the centre of a cupcake. If it comes out clean, then they're ready.
7. Transfer cupcakes onto a cooling rack and cool completely. While you're waiting, prepare the icing.

Vegan Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

1/2 cup of non-hydrogenated shortening, room temperature
1/2 cup of non-hydrogenated margarine, room temperature
3 1/2 cups of icing sugar, sifted
1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
1/4 cup of soy milk

Method:

1. Beat the shortening and margarine together until combined and fluffy.
2. Add the icing sugar and beat for about 2 minutes.
3. Add the cocoa powder and until to beat until completely combined.
4. Add the vanilla and the soy milk. Beat for another 5 minutes until fluffy.
5. Use a piper to decorate the cupcakes. Alternatively, you can cut the corner of a sandwich bag and use it as a makeshift piper. Or you can just spread the icing on with a knife.

Real Full name;David Crawford Lochary born in Baltimore,1945.
Divine's former best friend, with dyed silver hair, met the future Waters star in beauty school in Baltimore, Maryland. Divine later claimed that he had "never even heard the word 'drag' before David," and that Lochary did his makeup and wigs at parties (prior to Van Smith). Divine introduced Lochary to Waters in the mid-1960s, and he quickly became one of Waters' "Dreamlanders," first appearing in his 8mm underground film Roman Candles (1966). Lochary usually played exotically-dressed, sophisticated perverts who threatened, and lost to, Divine,as an example in Pink Flamingo's as "The Filthiest People in the World!" Lochary moved to New York after the release of Pink Flamingos (1972) to do theater, but returned to Baltimore for Female Trouble (1974), after which he drifted away from the Dreamlanders. He allegedly died by bleeding to death in his New York apartment after falling on a glass while on PCP, shortly after the release of Waters' first film without him and Divine, Desperate Living (1977).*http://www.imdb.com/

The Lives of Perfect Creatures
Photobucket

"All the universe is full of the lives of perfect creatures."

- Constantine Tsiolkovski

On November 3, 1957, just 30 days after the first ever man-made object entered into earth orbit, the Soviet Union launched a second "artificial moon." Born aloft by a proto-Vostok launch vehicle to an altitude of 934 miles, Sputnik II was not only substantially larger than its predecessor, but also differed in so far as its payload was not just limited to instrumentation and telemetry, but included a living being - the first ever earth-born creature to leave our planet and enter into the cosmic vacuum. This first earth-born creature to leave the earth was, of course, the famed Laika (barker), whose flight commanded the attention of the entire world. Between 1959 and 1961, 10 more dogs in 6 separate missions followed Laika's courageous example culminating in the flight of Zvezdochka (daughter of the stars), who, in the mute company of Ivan Ivanovich, a human mannequin, made a single orbit flight in final preparation for April 12, 1961, that historic day, when, proven tenable by the dogs, Yuri Gagarin was launched into space in the first human extra-terrestrial flight. The dogs of the space program were all female, mixed breeds found on the streets of Moscow. Selected for their size and temperament, the chosen dogs underwent extensive training by behaviorist Gregor Garzenko to enable them to withstand the tremendous noise, extreme motion, and severe forces of a Vostok rocket launch as well as to help them become accustomed to the pressurized suits and capsules necessary for extra-terrestrial travel. While Laika, as well as four subsequent canines and a rabbit, did not return from their travels, the majority of the missions were spectacularly successful. Belka (Whitey) and Strelka (Little Arrow), accompanied by 40 mice, 2 rats, and a number of plants, became the first beings to safely return from space after seventeen orbits of the planet. Strelka later gave birth to a litter of 6 healthy pups, one of whom was presented to the young Caroline Kennedy by Nikita Kruschev as a gift from the Soviet peoples.
This is an permanent exhibit at Museum of Jurassic Technology in Culver City CA.

Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck remains one of Americas greatest writers and cultural figures. If your looking for a quick read, edge of your seat, you just have to finish it because it's too good novel,Cannery Row is perfect. We all love John Steinbeck just hearing his name brings back childhood nostalgia with his novel "Of Mice and Men."
This one is a thoughtful and revealing portrait of symbiotic friendship, a suspenseful tale of adventure at sea, drawing on his own memories of the real inhabitants of Monterey,California.Written in 1945 it focuses on the acceptance of life as it is; living a lonely, filthy life as a fisherman, interweaving on a few other characters.
I highly recommend it!

Work in progress.

Recently a friend Chico came over to my house to hangout and party, with him he brought a tiny toy accordion.Since that night it's remained at my house, this little thing has brought me numerous hours of fun and entertainment.I can't stop playing it,and I'm not even any good it's just so much fun that it tricks me into thinking that I'm talented.
Sadly this toy does not belong to me so one day it will be taken away and I will lose my enjoyment,so I decided to buy my own,I wanted one just a bit larger then his.
Finding an accordion is not easy, all i could find was cheap plastic one's.
Yesterday I walked into an antique shop and they had the perfect accordion for me.
It needs some work and alittle love but now it's our mission to get this thing in top notch shape again.

Freak-D Out-Black Dice

Black Dice represented the cutting edge of New York City's postmillennial punk. The foursome started out in the Providence, RI, noise scene, which was established by Rhode Island School of Design students and centered on the legendary underground venue Fort Thunder. Unlike Providence's other leading band, Lightning Bolt -- a bass-and-drums duo who recycle riff-happy heavy metal into amphetamine-kicked skronk -- Black Dice set about tearing apart the rigid structures of '90s hardcore.

When Black Dice's lead screamer, effects-board maestro, and youngest member, Eric Copeland, elected to attend New York University, his guitarist brother, Bjorn, bassist Aaron Warren, and drummer Hisham Bharoocha decided to move with him to Brooklyn. Their first, self-titled release after the move, on respected New Jersey hardcore label Troubleman, sounds like a building collapsing: Screeching and buzzing guitar and bass crash into convulsing beats, while Eric's wordless cries approximate both outrage and anguish. Stripped of recognizable repetition and language itself, the songs don't even have names.*courtesy of Rolling stone.

Steampunk props

When is a pair of steampunk goggles too nice to be just a pair of steampunk goggles? How about when the metal components have been swapped out for solid milled titanium that's then coated in golden colored titanium nitride? How about when the goggles feature irises that can be opened and closed through independent sliders, or photochromatic lenses that automatically tint in sunlight? Nah, these goggles still have plenty of room for improvement. When the leather has been replaced with tanned baby foreskin and the optics can pierce a brass corset, then we'll be getting close.

Los Angeles

I am originally a southern California resident but sometime after high school, myself along with my bf and a few friends decided to move up North to Berkeley California. At the time that I moved there I had visited before meeting awesome people that i would eventually live with. All of them being friends of my good friend Travis's, he was a student at CCA a very prestigious art school residing in Oakland and another campus out in San Fransisco.
When I finally decided it was time to move and make a large life change my friends and bf were are already gone and living they're lives out there in Berkeley,I was a full time hairstylist at the time and had a huge clientele which made it really hard for me to leave;also my sister had just had her first son Tanner which made me sad to not watch him grow up from day to day but I still felt that I needed a change. So I finally picked up and moved up all my junk into a house right on the Berkeley/Oakland border.
This location was not ideal, actually it was on a major street and directly above a dirty Mexican restaurant and Domino's Pizza store.
I had four roommate at this location on Adeline st.These were all young creative exciting people and they made it easy to move in and feel entirely comfortable right away, always getting together for family type holidays, great meals, great conversations, all with experimental ideas. They made it fun to have such a close knit group in such a small apartment.
We all enjoyed the same music, culture, drinks smokes etc.It was a house of creative packrats all being feed nostalgic priceless junk from our favorite establishment "Urban Ore" even at one point I was the only person in the house that did not work there.
But the house full of people got old after a while and all the bad things going on became more in focus;like the rats living in the walls/ceiling,the fact that some people just don't seem to clean up after themselves, non smokers,Drug use,too many freaking house guests staying for way too long being entirely unwelcome and not respecting that not all the roommates wanted them there.

So the house split up,I even split from my boyfriend.Myself and the one other girl Aurora that lived in the Adeline apartment picked up and got a beautiful Victorian home in West Oakland,Michael my boyfriend moved with Travis to Albany in they're own house. As for the other roommate he was going to Cal Berk so he decided to stay in Berkeley and got a studio there near campus.

West Oakland seemed safe and my neighborhood was good and clean, full of old residence and their families. My only complaint was that I couldn't walk around,my street was nice but outside of it was another story!
We lived right next to a Large cereal factory, it was awesome;everyday the air around it stank of the cereal being made that day/night.I think it was Tuesday that was Co Co Puff day which was my favorite cause the air was completely perfumed Chocolate,"smelled so delicious."
Being someone that worked full time and having her ex boyfriend living in the city in which I worked, I eventually got to the point in which I stayed there with him almost every night of the week sometimes not coming back to Oakland for days at a time.Which ended up starting alot of tension throughout the house,so bad that I moved out,Which I'm still sad and sorry about.

Now in the time of living with Michael in Albany and having him as my boyfriend again; we were happy together but he was far from being happy about living in the Bay area.So he was planning on getting out and moving back down south which made my life more and more confusing because again I had a full time hairstylist job and an extremely good large loyal clientele whom would tell me daily "That I could not leave them!"

He did leave,he moved to Riverside to get a start on finding his new life.I on the other hand found myself looking for a new house with new roommates, well new/old roommates.Cameron and Curtis, two very special intelligent young adults.
Our house together was very cute, quaint and comfy. We all get along together very well, and even had friends throughout the neighborhood.Unlike Oakland this place was in El Cerrito an extremely small safe town,I walked everywhere. It was the life!

Eventually after a few months of Michael moving around traveling from SoCal to New York City to Boston to Lowell Massachusetts he finally settled in this small inexpensive bungalow in Echo Park Los Angeles with our good friend for years now Maneesh. They moved into the place with big plans for me to join them once I was ready to move.So i did.

dripping faucets, farts of passion, flat tires-are all sadder then death

i write poetry.
is poetry madness?
non-poetry is madness?
madness is ugliness.
what is ugly?
to each human,something different.
does ugliness belong?
it's there.
does it belong?
i don't know
you pretend knowledge.what is knowledge?
knowing as little as possible.
how can that be?
i don't know.
can you build a bridge? no
can you make a gun? no
these things are products of knowledge.
these things are bridges and guns.
soon i will have you beheaded.thank you.
why?
you are my motivation when i have very little.

Kornuta Holidays

These photo's were taken over the Holidays,With my boyfriends family"the Kornuta family."
They're such a fantastic family,I've spent multiple years with them,i like to think of them as my own.
In the more recent years some of the family members have moved far away from California so they've decided to try to have a X-Mas group trip;last year we all went on a Carnival Cruise to Catalina Island and then to Ensenada Mexico. It was a drunken Blast!!Photobucket

something vague and nameless seeping into my mind.

I miss the San Fransisco/East Bay area!
Especially all the Wonderful friends I made and left behind there.
You know who you are,I think of you constantly and wish I could be there.
Since moving my life has not seemed the same.

"I sat in a doorway and looked down at the city below me in the white murkiness like fog. But it was not fog: it was the desert heat, the great blasts from the Mojave and Santa Ana,the pale white fingers of this wasteland, ever reaching out to claim it's captured child."-John Fante
